.ctg vs .bin books

Post by sshendric »

Hi,

I don't understand why people here would only give vague answers or not give them at all ...

bloody polyglot doesn't understand anything if its not in .bin format.. ok, oranges are orange for everyone but polyglot wants them in black, fine!

i've looked through .bin books thread on this forum and browsed the web..

why do all of .bin books are less than 1mb while a decent .ctg book is at least 200mb??

does anyne have a nice .bin book which can be used for 1min engine games?

overall this whole yay/polyglot/winboard business is like a blast from the past .. if these were 70's then ya, it would be fine, but this is 2013!!
why does this software looks like "run this, then run that, then run 5 more diff things in sertain sequence, type a zillion arguments, manually edit .ini files, sacrifice a goat, do a dance with the drums and then MAYBE something will actually work"

nice server 15k eur, deep fritz 13 100eur, houdini 3 pro multiprocessor 100eur, books another 80eur .. all fine, but when it comes to connecting these to lets say pogo, it turns into 2 days of browsing forum posts where ppl braggin how happy they are when they got it all working and no actual answers on how to get it to work
