OK, as part of the last POGO change a new exe was released. I took the oportunity here to remove the lock for changing polyglot and winboard232 names.

Now is up to the users and not the script to enforce some ethics. The name of the program should not be change for two main reasons:
1.- The authors of polyglot and winboard232d deserve some respect.
2.- It is unethical to misguide other users.

Nowdays, with strong engines popping left and right almost every day, some users become strong because they have the courage and the time to make many many tests, because of this, some users might want to hide the name of the engine they are using. Taking this in consideration, the new YaYp will allow users to do that by changing the state of the variable 'hideengine', which is off by default when YaYp is first started.

If the user wants to hide the name of the engine, he/she must enter the command set hideengine

Important note: People not using WinBoard 4.4.3 and above, do not have to worry about this because it was with version 4.4.3 when winboard started parsing to YaYp the name of the engine (all this applies only when using polyglot, for people using winboard232d, YaYp will report Chessbase).

Also please observe that our philosophy is that not responding to a question, is not the same as lying. In other words: We think that hiding the engine name is not bad, but changing it and misguiding others it is.

Regards,
Using engines to cheat:
- It is not ethical,
- It is useless, nothing is gained (how can one be proud of a score earn with dishonesty?)
- You will be baned, sooner or later,
- It gives us (the true chess engine players) a bad reputation.
