YaY 3 Ultimate y las versiones anteriores son solo para windows.

Aunque con ligeras modificaciones podrian funcionar en Linux, no es nuestra intencion hacerlo.

Already included for the first time in this version. Good suggestion too.

So the only possible messages are something like this:

Using YaY 3.1.1 with Winboard 4.2.7 + Crafty 19.1
Using YaY 3.1.1 with Winboard 4.2.7 + Polyglot
Using YaY 3.1.1 with Winboard 4.2.7 + winboard232d.exe <---This will be the only possible indication that you are using a Chessbase Program.

This is one of those situations that I am glad I was wrong, if you tell me how you did it I'll be more than glad to implement it in YaY, but I kinda know the answer, since all you have is the exe, therefore you can not edit it. So I assume the correct display of Fritz is a new feature of that particular version of Winboard you are using, am I right?

Ive just managed to re-create that here...sort of.... by re-naming the Winboard232d.exe as Fritz.exe and then changing the targetline in the shortcut.. although this may not be the way he has done it.

Got me dene. Right..I renamed it to Fritz 11 (with space) then yay will not shout Fritz.exe but only Fritz...And also change my target ...

Now Im just having funny with this:

Yay shouts ... + X-GUI (not 2008 and not .exe)

Interesting but missleading.

YaY Ultimate 3 has been modify to truncate Winboard version numbers and to change winboard232d.exe to Chessbase.

So, the new shout will be something like this:

Using YaY........ with WinBoard + Polyglot
or
Using YaY........ with WinBoard + Chessbase

I can not ask you to stop missleading people but I will apreciated if you do.

I am making the announcement now cause I don't know how much free time I gonna have tomorrow (x-mas eve) not to mention that I will probably be drunk as hell

We ended it up adding more stuff than what we originally planned and the time went fast, although a great effort has been made, this does not mean that this version will be bug free. With your help and feedback we'll make it better. Don't get me wrong, as I am writting this letter I am not aware of any bug and the ones we found had been corrected, but there is always a chance, or who knows maybe there is no bugs.

We'd like to take the oportunity to thank xsupremex and zozur for their extensive and high quality beta testing.

For those thinking on tinkering with the perl file and change things I have some requests:

- Please respect the version number, do not change the version number because this will misslead other users and make them think there is a new official release. I saw this happened with YtoICS few years ago and it was a big mess and lots of confusion.

- If despite my request you still want to change the version string, then you should not use "YaY Ultimate Edition", not because I said so but because is copyrighted under the GNU license terms. Please read the GNU license included with the distribution and be aware of your responsabilities when using free software.

I tried downloading the megaupload link because the other downlad links didn't start to download. I was hoping to get the perl source code but it just had the exe file. I am using linux, that's why i need the source code. Could you point out which of the download links has the perl source code?

exe file is a executable, you need install YaY to get source code ( on C:\YaY_Ultimate_3 folder )
search for source folder
