At this site:http://www.mystcommunity.com/board/inde ... opic=17777

I found this:
http://tim-mann.org/xboard.html
Click on " Download stable WinBoard 4.2.7 " under the section "WinBoard - For 32-bit Microsoft Windows (95, 98, NT, 2000, ME, XP)" Then download it...you can connect to many chess sites with it... for example, to connect to chessanytime.com you just type in the box that says "Use an Internet chess server" : Chessanytime.com /icsport=5000
or to connect to freechess.org: just type: freechess.org /icsport=5000 /icshelper=timeseal

for freechess.org ...if the part that says" /icshelper=timeseal " doesnt work...just take that part away and play...ENJOY!!!!!!!!
Now, you can not use YaY or STUCI here since this sites do not need the Yahoo emulation that these scripts provide.

Do you want to use chessbase programs or polyglot?

Also, you need to learn( assuming you do not know already) the regular ICS commands, more specifically the ICS commands for that particular site that not necesary will be the same. Browse around chessanytime.com and see if they already have a list of commands.

I can nelp you create a sortcut to winboard that you will doubleclick at after you get the Waiting for connection window from chessbase(if it is chessbase the program you want to use), or create a shortcut for winboard specifacally create for Polyglot. Let me know exactly what are you trying to do and I also need the location of your Winboard.exe( is it
C:\Program Files (x86)\WinBoard-4.2.7 or
D:\Program Files (x86)\WinBoard-4.2.7 or
C:\ProgramFiles\WinBoard-4.2.7 or
D:\Program Files\WinBoard-4.2.7 )

Cheers,

P.D. Please disregard my previous incorrect answer, I didnt know that site was running an ICS server in the background. Or maybe the server accesed with the java applet is not the same server accesed with Winboard.

OK, I got Fritz connected to chessanytime.com :Bravo

I created in the desktop a new shortcut to Winboard and renamed it to "Winboard Fritz 8 chessanytime"(you dont have to do this but it avoids confusion in the future), then right clicked on it and selected properties, then I modified the target to be as follows:
"D:\Program Files (x86)\WinBoard-4.2.7\winboard.exe" /zp /ics /icshost Chessanytime.com /icsport 5000 /icshelper=timeseal /fcp="winboard232d.exe -pipe"

Note: The whole target it is in the same line, but due to this window restrictions, here might be shown in multiple lines. Also, notice that my winboard is in drive D and not C, and also because I am running windows XP 64 instead of 'Program Files' is 'Program Files (x86)'
So you should enter the correct path to winboard.exe

Ok, after the shortcut is created, launch your chessbase program and follow the usual steps to connect to Yahoo and when you get the window that says "Waiting for connection" then double click the new shortcut. And viola!!!!! You should be connected to chessanytime.com with your chessbase program ready to kick some ass. Do not forget to switch to "Two computer match" mode and uncheck the "Master" option.

Everybody knows I do not like cheating on human users, so, if you are going to register, I suggest you pick an ID like xXx_Rybka_xXx,but of course, that is entirely up to you.

Enjoy,

And to use polyglot the target should be like this:

"D:\Program Files (x86)\WinBoard_x\winboard.exe" /zp /ics /icshost chessanytime.com /icsport 5000 /icshelper=timeseal /fcp="polyglot.exe"

Just replace with the correct path to winboard.exe

To play, just double click in the Winboard shortcut

Any time.
Be sure you have the files timeseal.exe and timestamp.exe in your Winboard directory, because if you don't then WInboard will exit with an error.

Please do not ask me about ICS commands, I do not know any. :crasha

Good luck,

P.S. For the record, I was the first person(or maybe the only person) that figured out how to use yics( 2 or 3 years ago) with chessbase to connect to Yahoo, or at least I figured it out without help. Windboard shortcuts are one of my fortes. Anything you need in this regard just drop me a line. :D
